As a case management system, Aam Digital allows you to manage and organize your data and link various details – surveys, attendance records, evaluation results – to a single beneficiary profile. Keeping that data clean is essential: a duplicate registration doesn’t just clutter your database, it skews your reports and makes it harder to get a reliable picture of who you are actually reaching.
We already introduced a feature to merge two records when you spot a duplicate. But spotting duplicates in the first place can itself be time-consuming, especially in larger programs where data is entered by multiple team members across different locations. Aam Digital now offers a Duplicate Detection View: a dedicated analysis list that flags records sharing identical values in one or more fields you select, and presents them for review in one place.
You choose which fields to check – for example, a national ID number or date of birth combined with a first name. The system then surfaces any records that match exactly on those fields (ignoring differences in capitalization or trailing spaces), so you can review each pair and decide whether to merge them or dismiss them as distinct individuals.
This view is the foundation for further improvements. We are planning to extend and automate duplicate handling further over time, making it easier to maintain clean, reliable data as your program grows.
